Acute graft-versus-host disease (aGvHD) is a common complication associated with allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) with high morbidity and potentially fatal outcomes. The skin, gastrointestinal tract, and liver are common targets of the disease. In this activity, Sung Won Choi, MD, MS, Gianni B. Scappaticci, PharmD, BCOP, and Chelsea C. Honstain, MS, FNP-C discuss the role of the interprofessional care team in the prophylaxis and management of aGvHD according to current guidelines and available agents. The panel will also discuss emerging novel therapies for aGvHD prevention and treatment and hear from an experienced patient.
