Course: Moderate-to-Severe Atopic Dermatitis: A Primary Care Approach to Improving Equitable Access to Care in Rural and Underserved Communities
CME Credits: 0.00
Released: 2025-02-28
Atopic dermatitis (AD), the most common type of eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by periods of relapse and remission. In rural and underserved areas where access to specialized care and follow-up is challenging, the impact of AD can be significant as symptoms are often inadequately controlled by standard treatments and can persist throughout a patient's lifetime. Thus, primary care clinicians must stay abreast of the latest updates in order to provide high-quality dermatologic care over time. In this CME/CE activity, expert faculty will discuss best practices for assessment and diagnosis of atopic dermatitis as well as approved and emerging treatment options for children and adults with the condition. Strategies to increase access to care in rural and underserved communities such as teledermatology will also be discussed. This enduring activity is a recorded session from Rural Health Clinical Congress Fall 2024 that took place on November 23, 2024.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
